1983 An idea is formed


The International Dermal Institute is founded by Jane and Raymond Wurwand to help skin therapists advance their professional training. “We were astonished at the skillset gap between skin therapists in the U.S. versus those in Europe or South Africa. 1986 The brand is born

Dermalogica launches as the first skin care brand created by a skin therapist, for skin therapists. The mission: to define and bring respect and success to the professional skin therapist through excellent education, innovative products and outstanding customer service. It arrives in the UK in 1991

2001 Face mapping skin analysis arrives


Face Mapping®, Dermalogica’s unique skin analysis is introduced, providing insights into the skin’s past and present, allowing the subsequent prescription of a targeted home care regime for a healthy skin future.
Daily Microfoliant® is launched and fast becomes Dermalogica’s top-selling product. A gentle, daily use exfoliating powder for all skin conditions, that contains a unique Rice-based powder formula which activates upon contact with water, releasing Papain, Salicylic Acid and Rice Enzymes that micro-exfoliate dead cells, instantly leaving skin smoother and brighter

2006 The double cleansing phenomenon starts


The Double Cleansing phenomenon starts. Cult favourite, PreCleanse oil, takes achieving clean skin to a whole new level, becoming the first step in the Dermalogica Double Cleanse – the method that Dermalogica skin therapists have sworn by for over 30 years for ultra-clean, happy skin

2010 The FITE begins


The Dermalogica Foundation launches FITE to create pathways to entrepreneurship for women and girls around the world by providing access to education, an entreprenuerial accelerator and small business loans. To date, FITE has helped fund more than 91,000 loans and given educational scholarships to women and girls in 68+ Countries

2010 Barack Obama awards Jane Wurwand


The White House announces Jane Wurwand as the latest member of the Presidential Ambassadors for Global Entrepreneurship (PAGE) initiative

2017 Two heroes are reborn


Daily Superfoliant launches. The next generation powder exfoliant provides a daily detox from skin-ageing pollution, leaves skin ultra-smooth, whilst simultaneously combatting environmental triggers. PreCleanse Balm, a water activated balm-to-oil version of Dermalogica’s top selling oil cleanser is born. Long stay lipsticks, waterproof mascara, sunscreen and pollutants are no match for the PreCleanse Balm, which comes with a double-sided, ergonomically-designed mitt for enhanced cleansing and exfoliation to leave skin super clean

2017 The Flagship store arrives


December saw the arrival of Dermalogica’s flagship store in Sloane Square, a tranquil space where consumers can enjoy the best treatments, services and products that Dermalogica has to offer
